Jeff's story

I am a Senior Field Service Technician at Quadient, serving the Middle Tennessee area.  I have been in the industry for over 20 years and joined the Quadient team in June of 2023.  I live in a small town about an hour East of Nashville.  My wife and I have been married going on 21 years and have two children, ages 14 and 10.  I have always enjoyed fixing things since I was a small child, so this job comes naturally to me.  I’m definitely a car guy and have owned, built, and hobby raced several muscle cars over the years.  In my spare time, I have been involved with short track racing with my son and enjoy going to races, car shows, spending time outdoors with my family and dogs, fishing and tinkering in the garage.  My son and I are also starting a complete restoration on his Bronco.  We definitely enjoy our hobbies.

Having spent the majority of my career in the field, I can honestly say that the things I enjoy the most about being in the field are the freedom, flexibility, and ever-changing environment.  I am not tied to a desk, and get to spend time with different people and travel to new places on a regular basis.  I never know what tomorrow will bring and that keeps the job from being mundane.  I truly enjoy working out in the field.

My role, much like any role of a field technician, is constantly evolving to keep up with the ever changing technology. Machines and computers are consistently getting smarter and a good technician needs to be open to change and always eager to keep learning. I cannot speak highly enough about the management here at Quadient. They have welcomed me from day one and I feel like I am a valued member of the team. My past experience has definitely been acknowledged and I am on a path to excel with my career goals. I am very impressed with Quadient as a whole and also at the local level.

I feel that while all the EPIC values are equally important, the one that resonates the most with me is “Empowerment”. As a field technician, we have very little supervision on a daily basis.  As technicians, we are self starters and never micro-managed. I feel that my career is in my hands.  This empowers me to strive to do my best and go above and beyond with my customers. My career at Quadient is what I choose it to be, and that is a good feeling. You can really shine at Quadient with a good work ethic, strong soft skills, and solid technical aptitude.
